Happy Moments - Happy Birthday!

Hi! Here is a card that we created at my Stamp-A-Stack this month. I absolutely love this card and it was one of the favorites. I got the idea from Jen's Blog, Simple & Sincere. You can see her card by clicking here. The colors are great! Each present is individually cut and dimensioned on the cardstock. So I stamped the stack of presents 3 times. Once on the White Cardstock (so you can see the ribbon at the top), once on white scraps (color and cut top and bottom presents), and once on DSP (to cut the middle present). Popping them up on Dimensionals adds a great touch!! The only thing that I changed from Jen's card is, I added a layer by making my card base Whisper White. She used Bashful Blue for her card base.

Supplies:
Stamps: Happy Moments
Ink: Jet Black Staz On, Markers: Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, Pumpkin Pie
Paper: Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, Pawsitively Prints DSP
Accessories: Night of Navy Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals

Like the Happy Moments stamp set???? Well you only have a few days left to get your hands on this Sale-A-Bration stamp set!! Sale-A-Bration will end after March 31st! Get this stamp set for FREE when you place your $50 order. It's such a cute set!

Hope you are having a great weekend!

Idea for a Make & Take

Hi! I am on a Design Team for Make & Takes for a big event that is coming up on May 1st for Demonstrators and potential recruits. Anyway, here is a card that I created to get an idea for a Make & Take. The Make & Takes will be created from the NEW stamp sets from the Summer Mini Catalog that will go live on May 1st! Ink: Mellow Moss
Paper: Kraft, Mellow Moss, Very Vanilla

My Stampin' Up! Story

In the last couple of weeks, Stampin' Up! has encouraged us to share our Stampin' Up! story with others. Well, here is mine...
My Stampin’ Up! Story!

My extent of rubber stamping 10 years ago was stamping on my envelopes when I sent out my Christmas cards every year. Then I went to my sister’s Stampin’ Up! Workshop in March 2000. I created my first card and placed a small order. I didn’t get a catalog because I didn’t want to buy it and wasn’t interested in having a workshop to get it for free. I went to a second workshop, placed another small order, then took the catalog home, and had a catalog workshop. My Demonstrator came to my home to close out the order, and I asked her about the Demonstrator opportunity. I had absolutely nothing to lose. I was single, and in a situation where a little extra income would be very helpful. Plus I thought, “I could do this!!!”. If it didn’t work out, I received some great products at a great deal!

My reasons for becoming a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator have changed a bit over the years. Yes, the financial rewards have been important to me and will always continue to be a significant reason for being a Demonstrator. But the friendships I have made, both with my customers and downline are especially rewarding. It gives me a “life”! We have fun and I look forward to getting together with my friends who share my excitement for paper crafting.

Stampin’ Up! gives you flexibility and every resource imaginable to make this business fit your lifestyle. Through my 10 years as a Demonstrator, I have gotten married, lost my engineering job, had a baby, and my husband lost his job. My Stampin’ Up! business has always been a positive through every phase of my life. Whether you want to get your stampin’ products at a discount, share your love of paper crafting with friends and family, or make your business a financially rewarding career, Stampin’ Up! has a place for you. It’s a great company to represent!

I hope you enjoyed hearing my story!

One of a Kind!

Good Saturday morning to you!! I saw a card on Stampin' Connection (a community for SU! demonstrators) similar to this one, but they used whales instead of the orange/lemon slices. It was really cute! This is actually my second take on this card. You should have seen the first card... oh boy!!! Get out the sunglasses!!! It was bright!! I created it YoYo Yellow and Only Orange...colors I haven't used in years!!!! It was so bright, I couldn't stand it! It went into the trash! LOL!!! So I toned it down a bit with Summer Sun and Pumpkin Pie...much better! Wouldn't this card also look cute with the apple in Tart & Tangy??? Green apples with one red one???? I think it would be cute!

Supplies:
Stamps: Tart & Tangy, One of a Kind

Ink: Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie
Paper: Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White
Accessories: Scallop Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by today!! Have a great weekend!

Soft Suede Vintage Vogue

Hi! Here is another card that we stamped at my Friday Night Stamp Club. And we will be also stamping this card at my Day-Time & P.M. Stampin' Classes. It's so pretty. I first created this card at my downline, Sally's class several weeks ago. The original idea for this card comes from Shannon West from Stampin' Up! on Stampin' Connection (community for Demonstrators only).

The important part to remember on this card is to stamp the images first in Soft Suede BEFORE you emboss the flower, so that you can see the stamped image under the embossed image. It's such a pretty card!! After you emboss the flower, take a sponge dauber with Soft Suede ink and lightly dab the ink around the flower to create a soft look. Then wipe the embossed image with a paper towel or tissue to wipe off any ink. Now I created a Sympathy card here, but you can change the sentiment for your needs. I just thought it made a nice sympathy card...soft and simple!

Below is the inside of the card. I thought it was so pretty, I just had to take a picture of it!! I stamped "off" the floral twice on scrap paper before stamping on the Very Vanilla cardstock for a lighter image. The greeting is stamped in full color. Nice little touch, don't you think?

Supplies:
Stamps: Vintage Vogue, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Very Versatile (retired, for the greeting)
Ink: Soft Suede, Versamark
Paper: Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Clear Embossing Powder, Sponge Daubers

So elegant, but so simple!!
Take care,
Karen

Green/Yellow Baby Card

Hi! I attended a baby shower last week, and realized that I didn't have a card created in my stash until the last minute! Shame on me! No, I didn't buy a store-bought card. There was a tag on the gift bag, so I just put my message on the tag. :) I don't want to catch myself in that situation again, so I created a few cards for babies over the weekend to put in my stash. I started with the green/yellow theme. I used a retired Sale-a-Bration set, Say it with Scallops, but you can substitute anything for that element on this card if you don't have this set. This card is also easy enough to change the theme! It's a great layout! It's similar to the layout as shown in the previous post.

Aren't those buttons adorable? I used my Big Shot with the Buttons #5 Die. I also made my banner do the "wave" using Mini Glue Dots.

Supplies:
Stamps: Say it With Scallops (retired SAB), Hugs & Wishes (retired)
Ink: Certainly Celery
Paper: Whisper White, So Saffron, Certainly Celery Patterns DSP
Accessories: Scallop Circle Punch, Top Note Die, Buttons #5 Die, Big Shot, Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great Monday!

Just Buzzin' By, FTL #79

Hi! I created another card using the Fall-to-Layout #79 on the Clean & Simple Blog. When I first saw the sketch, I had this card pictured in my mind, but I just never made it. I finally created it this weekend, along with a few other card that you will see in the next couple of days. I stamped everything in Basic Brown. The bee hive is stamped on Watercolor Paper, then colored with Watercolor Crayons and an Aquapainter. See the wave in the little banner? I placed Mini Glue Dots under the banner to make the wave. So cute!!!

Supplies:
Stamps: Just Buzzin' By
Ink: Basic Brown
Paper: Naturals Ivory, Chocolate Chip, Watercolor Paper
Accessories: Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder, Big Shot, Watercolor Crayons, Aquapainter, Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals

Did you notice the cute little bee peaking out from the inside of the card? The inside of the card says, "have a honey of a day!". And I stamped the jar of honey lightly behind the sentiment. It's cute!

Have a great day! We are having great weather here in St. Louis! It's time to go play outside!!
