FTL48 & a little visitor!

Hi! I created a card based on the Fall-to-Layout #48 on the Clean & Simple Blog. As soon as I saw the sketch, I knew I wanted to use my NEW Circus Circus stamp set!!! It will be in the new catalog and will be available on July 1st. I also used the NEW In-Colors! Aren't they just pretty?! If you place an order with me in the last 6 months, I have a catalog waiting for you. If you would like to have a catalog, cost is $5 or FREE with any order! If you pay for a catalog, I will take $5 off your first order!
Supplies:
Stamps: Circus Circus, Upsy Daisy (sentiment)
Ink: Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry
Paper: Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo
Accessories: Scallop Circle Die with Big Shot, Circle Scissors Plus, 1-1/4", 1", & 1/2" Circle Punches, Dimensionals
As I was taking pictures of my cards, I noticed I had a little visitor looking on! (I'm so glad I had my camera with me!) I love when I see my deer!!! I haven't seen them around our house in a while, so I was beginning to get a little worried!! Last year, Mama and her two babies were in our backyard almost every day! I loved it!! I saw the 2 babies grow very quickly! But I haven't seen them in quite some time. So I was glad to see a new little baby. I'm sure her mama was keeping an eye on her from the woods. The baby scurried back into the woods when RJ wanted to get a closer look!
Hope you are having a great day!!! It's a short week, so hang in there!!!

Celebrate YOU at 40!

Hi! Happy Saturday to you! It's a hot one in St. Louis. Great day to be indoors or in the water! We are heading to a 40th birthday party this evening and here is the card I created for the guest of honor! I'm not a big fan of the black/over the hill theme, so I created mine a bit brighter! 40 is not "over the hill" to me. But maybe I'm just saying that because I just hit 40 earlier this year!! LOL!
Supplies:
Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes, A Little Birthday Cheer
Ink: Basic Black, Real Red
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, East Coast Prep DSP (retired)
Accessories: Cricut (for the "40"), Basic Black marker, Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals, Paper Snips

Hope you are having a fantastic weekend!

CASE Thursday and a little bit of Christmas!

RJ and I just got back from the pool this morning. What a great day to be at the pool! I even have a bit of a tan!!!

I have 2 cards, so be sure to scroll down!

It's Thursday and as I mentioned last week, Thursdays mean showing you a CASE (copy and share everything) card to you. Today's inspiration comes from the current catalog, the Spring-Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog on page 72.

Here is my version:

Supplies:
Stamps: Wild About You, Birthday Wish, Polka Dot, Well-Worn Numbers
Ink: Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Night of Navy
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Real Red, More Mustard, Old Olive, Night of Navy, Whisper White
Accessories: 1-3/4" Circle Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Dimensionals

Isn't that a cute child's card?! I did change a few things for my card. Since I didn't have the stamp sets that Stampin' Up! used in their card, I substituted for the Wild About You set and added the Birthday Wish stamp for the sentiment. The Wild About You stamp set is on the Last Chance List, so make sure you order today if you would like to get this set before it is gone forever. It will be available until June 30th...Item 115110, $25.95.

Today is June 25th, 6 months before Christmas! I know, can you believe it? On the 25th of each month, I want to show you a Christmas card. It's never too late to start thinking about Christmas cards. Every year, I always think...if I would only start a bit earlier in making my Christmas cards. The Holidays seem like such a rush at times...wouldn't it be great to work on my cards early, so that is one less thing I need to get done during the Holiday Season! Wishful thinking, huh? Let's dream for a minute...create 10 cards each month...I would have 60 cards complete by December 1st!

Supplies:
Stamps: To You and Yours
Ink: Baja Breeze

Paper: Baja Breeze, Whisper White
Accessories: Texturz Plates, Big Shot, Scallop Edge Punch, 1-1/4" & 1-3/8" Circle Punches, Dimensionals, White Organza Ribbon

I hope you enjoyed a bit of Christmas today! Like I said, I will share a little of Christmas each month on the 25th.

Have a great day!

Kind of FTL47!...Lovely as a Tree

Hi! For this card, I actually started using the Fall-to-Layout #47 on the Clean & Simple Blog, but it ended up going in a slightly different direction. But I like it!

One of the perks of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is receiving FREE stamps!! We all love free stuff...especially stamps!!! The sentiment I used on this card is from a set that I just received free as a reward from Stampin' Up! It's called On Your Birthday! It has some great sentiments in it! A stamper can never have enough word stamps!

Supplies:
Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, On Your Birthday
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Paper: Confetti White, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Windsor Knot DSP (retired)
Accessories: Circle Scissors Plus, Dimensionals

I don't know if you have noticed or not, but the last several projects that I have posted, did not have ribbon...Gasp!!! I know! I can't believe it!!! I didn't think it was possible to create anything without ribbon!!! Ha! Ha!

Have a good one!

CASE from Catalog!

Hi! I think I'm going to try something and see how it goes. Every Thursday, my plan is to show you a card or something that I created from some type of inspiration from any of Stampin' Up's resources...Idea Book & Catalog, Mini Catalog or Stampin' Success. As you know, there is a TON of inspiration in these publications!! I could get inspiration from a layout, from colors, or from anything seen in these publications that inspire me to create. So we'll see how it goes...

Today's card comes directly from the current catalog, the Spring-Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog. On page 123, I pretty well case'd (Copy And Share Everything) the card shown at the bottom of the page. Here is the card out of the catalog...I love the simplicity of it! I changed a couple of things on my card, including rounding the corners, adding the So Saffron CS behind the Whisper White CS, and changing the sentiment. It's super easy! Give it a try!
Supplies:
Stamps: Tart & Tangy, Hugs & Wishes, Polka Dot
Ink: Markers: Pumpkin Pie & So Saffron
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Whisper White
Accessories: Corner Rounder, Flower Designer Brads, Dimensionals, Paper Snips

Thanks for stopping by!

SSSC21 Baby Shower Card

Hi!! I went to my niece's baby shower yesterday and here is the card that I created for her! I used a few retired things, including Year after Year stamp set and the DSP (can't remember the exact name. It's some of the single-sided paper that Stampin' Up! used to sell.). The cardstock colors are Bashful Blue, Garden Green, and Whisper White. I used my Circle Scissors Plus and one of my Marvy punches for the image. And I used a 1" Circle Punch to punch some DSP to put behind the Clear Button.
The layout came from a Sketch Challenge (SSSC21) that you can see here.
Heading to my niece's birthday party this afternoon, so gotta go!!!

Supplies:
Stamps: Big Bold Birthday, A Little Birthday Cheer
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Regal Rose
Paper: Kraft, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Sweet Always DSP
Accessories: White Gel Pen, Trio Flower Punch, Vintage Brads, Dimensionals

We will also be stamping this card at my Day-Time Stampin' on Tuesday morning.

Thank You to VBS!

Happy Friday!!! Today was our final day at Vacation Bible School. RJ had so much fun this week, but he was exhausted!!! I can see why 3-year olds do not go to school every day!!! It was exhausting for him (and me!) to get up early and be on the go every day this week. We are not used to that!!! They had their little service last night at the church. ALL the kids (over 300 kids of various ages) sang their songs for their parents and loved ones. It was really cute. They all processed in, beginning with the 3's. Unfortunately, RJ did not make it too long in front. There was alot of activity as all the kids came in singing. Plus RJ was so tired from not taking a nap all day. (I tried for 3 hours, giving him a nap, but he wanted nothing to do with it.) So after he made it to the front of church, he started crying, and ended up sitting with us and watching the service from our seats! He was a good boy!

Here is the card that I gave to the volunteers in RJ's class. It took alot of time, energy, and patience for the volunteers to keep the children busy and to keep track of each of them! I appreciate it so much! RJ had a great time! And it means so much to me to be able to feel peaceful and content about dropping my son off, and to know he is safe and having a good time!

This card is very old!!!! I can't even remember when I created this one. It's one that I created for a class several years ago. I can't remember off-hand the DSP, but the colors are Only Orange and Pink Passion (or was it the old Positively Pink???). I hope you find inspiration in the colors, layout or another element of the card. It is cute!

Have a great weekend!

Sneak Peak Projects

Hi! Happy Thursday!!! I wanted to share a couple of projects that we will be creating at my stamp club on Friday night and my Day-Time Stampin' class on Tuesday morning.

A new round of Stamp Club will be starting up on July 10th. We meet on the 2nd Friday of each month. Would you like to join our fun group? I'm looking for a few stampers to join us!! If you are interested in learning more about my monthly stamp club, please contact me at stampwithkaren@aol.com. I'll post more details about my stamp club next week.
Ok, on to the cards...

I first saw this adorable Scallop Circle Dress on Patty's blog here. They are just too cute!!!

Supplies:
Stamps: none!
Ink: none!
Paper: Kraft, Almost Amethyst, Whisper White, Almost Amethyst Prints DSP (retired)
Accessories: Scallop Circle Die, Texturz Plates, Big Shot, White Tafetta Ribbon, Filigree Designer Brads, Dimensionals

Here's another one...

Supplies:
Stamps: none!
Ink: none!
Paper: Kraft, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette Patterns DSP
Accessories: Scallop Circle Die, Texturz Plates, Big Shot, White Tafetta Ribbon, Flower Designer Brads, Dimensionals

I am having so much fun coloring these roses!! I have a couple of roses set aside waiting to complete a project! You can see a video tutorial here showing how to create these beautiful watercolor roses. (I get so much inspiration from Patty Bennett! She is amazing!) The layout for this card is similar to one created by detailmama on SCS here. I used Pink Pirouette and Regal Rose reinkers to color the rose on Shimmery White Cardstock. You will have to trust me...it really shimmers! It's so pretty in real life.

Supplies:
Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral, All Holidays
Ink: White Craft, Regal Rose
Paper: Whisper White, Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette Patterns DSP, Shimmery White, Mellow Moss
Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Regal Rose & Pink Pirouette Re-inkers, Aquapainters, Little Leaves Die, Big Shot, Dimensionals

Again, we will be creating these cards at stamp club on Friday and my Day-Time Stampin' on Tuesday morning. Hope you can make it!

Take care,
Karen

LOOK!

Hi! Look what was on my front porch today!!!! It actually arrived at about 12:15 p.m., but I didn't discover it until 4:00 p.m.!!! I couldn't believe it! I got RJ down for a nap, then I sat there and waited because our UPS man usually doesn't get here until 2:30 p.m. So I sat here and waited...and I waited. Then I decided to look it up on-line and found out that it was already delivered!!! I ran to the door and rush in to open it up!!! This is so exciting!!! I am smiling ear-to-ear as I type this!!!!

There it is...the new catalog! Isn't it just beautiful? It has a matte feel to it...not shiny. It's a great-looking catalog, as always!!! Stampin' Up! just keeps cranking them out!!

I ordered mainly all the In-Color stuff...Dusty Durango, Soft Suede, Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, & Melon Mambo! I can't wait to see these colors in action! They are so pretty! You will love them! Look at that ribbon! I order a few new stamp sets too!

Do you see what I see??????? YES...IT'S THE MARKERS FOR THE IN-COLORS!!! You ask for it and Stampin' Up! listens. This is so exciting!

Ok, I haven't had a chance to run through the entire catalog yet, but I did notice a few things. Who has the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set??????? Well...there is now a punch that will punch out the big butterfly!!! We don't have to cut it out anymore!!

You should see the new personalized stamps too!!! Very cute!

You are going to love all the ideas that this catalog will bring you! It is LOADED with inspiration! Can't wait for you to have one in your hands! But wait, I won't have my boxes of catalogs until later this month. So be patient. If you are at my house, you may browse through my catalog...but after you wash your hands...just kidding!

Off to look through my catalog! Later!

Revised!

Here is my revised version of the card in my previous post. I did emboss the images, instead of jsut using the White Craft Ink Pad. It makes it pop off the Gable Green Cardstock much better!! The photo shows it a bit light, so you will have to trust me on this!! My photography skills are a little lacking! I also added a scallop edge at the bottom and layered a bit of color under it. I still wanted to keep it clean and crisp, and I think I managed to do just that! I hope you like it!

Stamps: Enjoy Every Moment
Ink: White Craft Ink (Versamark will do too!)
Paper: Gable Green, Tempting Turquoise, Pink Passion, Lavender Lace
Accessories: Cherry Blossom Die, Big Shot, Scallop Edge Punch, White Embossing Powder, Dimensionals

Have a great week! I'm getting ready for stamp club on Friday, so I will share more this week!

To post or not to post...

Hi! I hesitated in posting this card. The white ink just didn't pop off the Gable Green cardstock like I had hoped. But I decided to share it with you, and my intention is to recreate it and show you a revised version. The colors here are Gable Green, Pink Passion, and Tempting Turquoise. I used the Enjoy Every Moment stamp set with White Craft Ink.

Have a great Sunday!

Beautiful Rose!

Hi! Sorry for not sharing a new project with you for a week! But I do appreciate you visiting! Really I do!! So keep coming back. It's you that really keeps me stamping!!

Here is a card that I created after I saw a similar card on Deb's blog, ARTfelt Impressions. She has some good stuff! I just tweeked mine a bit and used the supplies that I had on-hand. Her card is so pretty. Go take a look here!

This card is so purty in real life. The rose is created from Shimmery White Cardstock. I wish you could see the shimmer! You can see a video tutorial by Patty Bennett, showing how to create this beautiful rose! It's quite simple...just need a little patience to allow it to dry! While I was embossing the rose, I made a few extra to play around with different colors. I'm so excited!

Supplies:
Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral, Warmest Regards (retired)
Ink: White Craft Pad, Rose Red pad, Reinkers: Rose Red & Regal Rose
Paper: Kraft, Confetti White, Certainly Celery, Shimmery White, Pink Pirouette Patterns DSP
Accessories: Top Note Die, Little Leaves Die, Texturz Plates, Big Shot, Clear Embossing Powder, White Taffeta Ribbon, Corner Rounder, Dimensionals, Aquapainter

The Little Leaves are attached to the back of the rose using Dimensionals. Makes it easy!

So now it's your turn! Go give it a try! You will love that you did!

Have a great weekend! I have another card posted for Saturday night!
