Happy Father's Day!

Hi! Hope you had a great day today on this Father's Day!! We had a fun day!! We went out for lunch at Outback Steakhouse, then to my parents to spend some time with my dad. It's a hot one in St. Louis today!

Here is my Father's Day card that I created for my Dad! I was inspired by Jennifer Timko's card shown HERE. I love the simple design and layout. I just changed the words, colors, and ribbon.
Supplies:
Stamps: Inspired by Nature, All Year Cheer II (retired)
Ink: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Naturals Ivory
Accessories: Alpine Ribbon Originals (retired), Horizontal Slot Punch (retired), Dimensionals

Here are a couple of pictures from Father's Day today. The first one is of me and my wonderful Dad!! And the second picture is of RJ and his Daddy!

Can't believe the weekend is about over! It's going to be a busy week! We have out of town relatives coming in town for a family reunion that will take place on Saturday! It's going to be fun to see my cousins that I have not seen in about 18 years!!!

Take care and have a great week!

Inspired by Nature & Color Spritzer Tool

Hi! I played in my stamp area last night and created a few cards. So be sure to visit this week for some more inspiration.

For this card, I used my In Color Markers to ink my the flower petals and stem. Then I used a sponge dauber/ink pad for the center of the flower. I probably could have used a marker for the center, but I wanted more of a sponged look, instead of a swiped look from a marker. Also, I wanted a softer look where the petals meet the center of the flower. I can't believe I came up with this one all on my own...well almost. I had a few sketches in my sketch book that inspired me.
Supplies:
Stamps: Inspired by Nature, Sincere Salutations
Ink: Soft Suede (ink pad & marker), Crushed Curry and Old Olive Markers
Paper: Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon, Perfect Details Texturz Plate, Big Shot, Dimensionals, Color Spritzer Tool

I haven't used the Color Spritzer Tool since before Stampin' Up retired it a few years ago. Then they brought it back a while ago and I decided to dust it off and put it to work. I really like the effect on the card! The tool mists the ink from a marker to give a spattered look. Hopefully you can click on the picture for a closer look!

Hope you are having a great week!

Inspired by Nature Card

Happy Labor Day! Hope you are enjoying your Holiday! I wanted to share a card with you, that we did at my Stamp Club and my Day-Time Stampin' in August. I pretty well copied it from a card that was shown on on either a blog or on splitcoaststampers. I can't remember! From now on, I will be better at remembering where I was inspired from. :) Also, a similar card can be seen on page 194 of the Fall-Winter 2008 Idea Book & Catalog. I changed it up a bit, and this is what I came up with...
Supplies:
Stamps: Inspired by Nature, Sincere Salutations and Baroque Border Standard Wheel
Cardstock: Confetti Cream, Old Olive, and Bella Rose DSP
Ink: Old Olive Classic pad & ink cartridge
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Ivory Taffeta ribbon, Cutter Kit for distressing cardstock

Thanks for stopping by!

Convention Make & Takes

Hi! Here are 2 of the make & takes that we stamped at convention. All convention attendees received 3 different stamp set to complete our make & takes. Here is the first one...

We created this nice gift bag using Inspired by Nature stamp set. We stamped the grass in Tangerine Tango, then stamped the flowers in white craft ink. The 3x3 gift card is punched, then slitted to fit on the handle of the gift bag.

The second project is a card created with the same stamp set. We stamp the grass with Versamark ink. For the flowers, we used a sponge dauber to apply the ink to the stamp, then added extra ink to the image where we wanted to show a little darker image.

Hope you enjoy these 2 samples. More to come later.

Have a great Holiday weekend!
