Flowers Awash for a Workshop!

Hi! Here is a card that I created for a workshop on Sunday. Everyone stamped their own card, and they did a great job!! I was inspired by Brenda Keenan on Stampin' Connection (a Stampin' Up! community for Demonstrators) to create this card. I changed it up a bit. I changed the colors, ribbon, and sentiment. I also added the Textured Embossing Folder on the Marina Mist cardstock, and added a layer of Pear Pizzazz behind the white cardstock. I love how the So Saffron flower is popped off the white!!

Supplies:
Stamps: Flowers Awash, On Your Birthday

Ink: Early Espresso, So Saffron, Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz
Paper: So Saffron, Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White
Accessories: Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Pear Pizzazz Stitched Poly Ribbon, Paper Snips, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!! Have a great day!

A Piece of Cake!!

Edit to add...To make the flowers, I used the Floral Fusion Die with the Big Shot in Pink Pirouette, and the 5-Petal Punch in Certainly Celery.

Hi! Here is a little project that I have been working on. I am so happy with how it turned out! I wanted to come up with an incentive for my customers to book a workshop with me. I've seen some of these cakes on-line, so I came up with my version. I only had time to create half of a cake because it is a little time-consuming to cut each slice out. I copied a template from http://www.victorineoriginals.com/ on Chocolate Chip Cardstock, then cut it out with a ruler and hobby knife. I used a stylus tool and ruler for the scored lines. It's easy, but takes a little time. :)

I had a workshop last night, and one guest took a piece of cake!! I'm excited!! I had little Dove Chocolates in each slice, along with a slip of cardstock that had a product printed on it. They will receive their special gift at their workshop. There is even one slice of cake with 2 gifts inside.

Isn't it pretty? Good enough to eat!! I used the new Pearl Jewels on top of each flower.

So, do you want a piece of cake??? Contact me today if you are in the St. Louis area, and let's schedule your workshop!! You and your friends will stamp 2 different projects and have a whole lot of fun!!! Here's my email address... stampwithkaren@aol.com.

Have a great day!!

FTL #103 for my Day-Timers!

Hi! I created this card for my Day-Time Stampin' Class that met on Tuesday morning. We stamp 3 different cards/envelopes! The other 2 cards that we stamped are the same cards that we stamped at Stamp Club this past Friday. See my previous posts for Stamp Club Projects #1 & 2. My next Day-Time Stampin' date is September 14th.

For inspiration, the card layout came from the Fall-to-Layout #103 on the Clean & Simple Blog.

For my color inspiration, I again turned to my Color Coach!!! Love it!!! It makes creating so much easier!...Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi, & Early Espresso.

Supplies:
Stamps: Simply Said
Ink: Early Espresso
Paper: Whisper White, Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi
Accessories: Polka-Dot Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Rhinestone Jewels, Marina Mist Tafetta Ribbon, Dimensionals

I was playing around with My Digital Studio, and created this little collage to show the 3 cards that we stamped at my Day-Time Stampin' this month. Kind of a fun way to show all 2 cards together!!

Thanks for stopping by today!! Enjoy you day!

Stamp Club Project #3

Hi! I saw this cute little box on Angie's Chic' n Scratch Blog, and I just had to create one for myself. So cute!!! You can see her Video Tutorial here, so that you can create one too!! My Stamp Club created this little cutie on Friday evening. It's perfect for some Ghiradelli Chocolate, a gift card, or any little treat for that special someone!

When picking out colors, I went straight to my Color Coach!!! Isn't it the best thing when you need a little help with colors??? Stampin' Up! came out with a new Color Coach this year, and you just have to have it!!! I looked at Marina Mist, and it told me to combine Real Red and Old Olive together. It's a great color combo, don't you think?

Supplies:
Stamps: Birthday Bakery
Ink: Jet Black Staz On, Markers: Marina Mist, Real Red, Old Olive
Paper: Marina Mist, Real Red, Old Olive, Watercolor Paper, Whisper White
Accessories: Scallop Rectangle Clearlit Die, Scallop Envelope Die, Big Shot, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Word Window Punch, Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Blender Pen, Tombow Multi-Purpose Glue, Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals

I used Markers to color the Real Red heart and Old Olive polka-dots with full color. Then I scribbled on a CD, and picked up the color with a Blender Pen for the Marina Mist bad and Real Red tissue paper.

Let me know if you have any questions. It's very simple to make!!

Have a great day!

We have so much fun!!! I'm looking for one more stamper to join in on stamp club!! So let me know if you are interested and I will share the details with you!!

Following is a card that I created to swap with the girls at stamp club. We swap cards to share our ideas with everyone!! I look so forward to see what everyone is doing with their stamps! Have a great weekend!! My niece, Lori, is going away to college this year...wow...where did that time go??? I remember myself being in college when she was born!! Am I really that old??? She is my first niece going to college, so my mom wanted to celebrate and throw a little party for her before she begins this new chapter in her life. A Special Treat for Sally's recruits!

Hi! My downline, Sally, met with her downline this past Sunday, and invited me along to meet her crew! She invited us to lupper (between lunch and supper) at Joey B's On the Hill! Wow, was is delicious!!! And I have enough left over for about 2 more meals for me and my son!!!

I wanted to bring a little something along to share with her new recruits! It was a pleasure meeting them, and I look forward to seeing them again in the near future!! I made these little boxes from the Box #2 Die and the Big Shot. And inside...Chocolate!!! The stamp is one that I bought from Momento Mall at convention! "Love what you do, Share what you love!!!" Isn't that what it is all about?

Colors are Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Tempting Turquoise (straight from the Color Coach). I used the markers to color in the image. The scallop circle is punched from the new 2-3/8" Extra Large Scallop Circle Punch.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Thoughts of Sweet Scoops!

Hi! While at convention in Salt Lake City one evening, Mary, Sally, and myself were sitting in Mary & Sally's hotel room. Mary & Sally were brainstorming ideas for an upcoming class that they were planning. They wanted to use the Sweet Scoops stamp set, so I was trying to come up with ideas to help them out a bit. I sketched something out on a piece of paper, but it's still difficult to really illustrate what I am talking about. So when I got home, I created this card to show them what I was really trying to show them on the piece of scrap paper!! I used sponge daubers on the ice cream scoop to make it look like Neopalitan ice cream. Colors are Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, and Very Vanilla. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and the brad that I used is retired from an old Mini Catalog. Cute, huh?? I was pretty happy about it!!

Have a great day!!

3 Convention Make & Takes

Hi! Here are 3 of the make & takes that we created at convention this year.

This one was my favorite...

I liked this one too. Very simple, but oh so pretty!

This one was cute! We create (3) 3x3 cards, which slipped into this little pouch created from an open-ended envelope.

There were 2 other make & takes, but I didn't get them created at convention. I wanted to take some pictures of displays, so I left my make & take session to take some last-minute pictures.

Thanks for stopping by!

Last of the Convention Highlights

Hi! Here are the final highlights from Stampin' Up's Convention 2010.

On the final day of convention, we were thrilled to see Shelli and Sara on stage together, showing us many amazing projects using the new fabric that will be in the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalog! They were both a hoot on stage! See their skirts??? They were both made with Stampin' Up's new fabric! Sara even took her skirt off and showed it as an adorable tree skirt! (She did have shorts underneath!).

At the very end of convention, we gathered back in the auditorium for Closing Session. Stampin' Up! really knows how to send us off with a bang!!! The prize patrol came out with confetti flying and every Demonstrator at convention received a very generous gift! We received products from the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalog, and a Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad!!! The auditorium was filled with confetti and almost 3000 screaming Demonstrators!! How fun is that?!!! Here I am...

I love this next picture! We took this at the very end of convention. I had a great time with Mary & Sally!

During our time in Salt Lake City, we stayed at the Hotel Monaco. Each day when we returned to our hotel room, our hotel served homemade Sangria. It was very refreshing!

That's it for convention highlights!! I have a few projects to share, so hopefully I will get them posted soon!!

more Convention Highlights...

On Friday evening of Convention, Mary, Sally, and myself went to Linda Hansen's event, An Evening to Remember. We had a very nice evening, which included a delicious dinner, swapping, and make & takes. Here is a picture of us with Linda!

And of course, there were suprise guests, including Jaron. He sang the same song for us, that he sang 2 years ago at convention.

Here is Sally with Diana Gibbs!! Diana designed most of the awesome make & takes that we stamped that evening. She is very talented!!
And look at this...Helen was at the same event!!!
Stampin' Up! treated us to lunch every day at convention. They held nothing back!! Here is chocolate fountain that we all enjoyed. It was loaded with everything imaginable to dip in chocolate!!

Ok, I think there will be one more post for convention highlights.

Friends and the Quiet before the Storm!

One of the best things about convention is reconnecting with your stampin' friends that don't live close to you!! I met Helen at a Leadership Conference here in St. Louis back in 2005. Helen lives in California, and we seem to find each other at each leadership/convention that we both attend. While waiting for Opening Session to begin on Day 2 of Convention, I get a text message that said, "Hi Sweetie, where are you?" I was so excited to see her!!! She is a real sweetheart, and I'm so glad we have Stampin' Up! to stay connected!!! Here is me and Helen...

I was part of the Recuit Crew at Stampin' Up! And if we recruited one person during the month of June, we were treated to breakfast with Shelli, and first choice seating at Opening Session on Day 2. What a treat!!! Here is Shelli...

Since we were able to be choose our seats before they opened the doors to the other 2500 Demonstrators, we got to experience what it was like on the other side of the door. Here is the quiet before the storm...
Ready...

Set...
GO!!!
How fun is that!!!

more Convention Highlights...

Are you tired of seeing Convention highlights yet??? I hope not, because I have a few more posts! I took alot of pictures, but of course I won't show you everything! You will just have to join us next year to see what it's all about!!

There is alot of talent at Stampin' Up! Not only do the staff know how to stamp, but they really know how to perform. Here is Brent Steele showing off his talent with his banjo!! He was very good!!!

Here is Jill Kocherhans and Bonnie Thurber. Wow...such talent!!! They first performed a little song together, then they had some awesome projects that they stamped for us!! They were a hoot!

Shelli Gardner at Awards Night...such elegance. She was absolutely stunning!

Here is Sally, Mary and myself...

Sally and Mary doing their color charts!!! Now we have color charts for all the current colors!!!
I have more coming soon!
