Class Reunion!

As promised, here is my 8th Grade Graduation picture from St. Dismas! Oh, how awful! Look at that hair and those eyebrows! I had them waxed the day after graduation! We had a fabulous time last night at our 25 year reunion! It was funny seeing everybody walk in, feeling a little awkward, then all of a sudden they would recognize someone and all the memories came back!! It was so great to see our classmates! We laughed the entire evening!! The reunion ended at 11:00 p.m., but nobody was leaving. So later they asked if we could move our party into the bar, and that we did!! Joe and I left at 1:00 a.m., and there were still 8-9 classmates there remembering the good ole days! What a memorable experience! I'll never forget it. Hopefully we won't wait another 25 years!! Here is our "now" picture that was added to our reunion momento...

Hope you are having a great Sunday!

Sneak Peak!

Oh my!! Where have I been??? Well, let me tell you. My 25 year Grade School Reunion is this weekend, and guess who is planning it? Yes, you got it! My best friend (Becky) from Grade School and I are putting this party together! Becky is putting a slideshow presentation together and I am creating a Reunion Momento, including pictures and information about our 28 classmates! It's taking alot longer than we expected, especially when we don't get the information until the week of the reunion. You know how that goes! I'll post some pictures from the reunion after Saturday night. Want to see my 8th grade picture? Oh how awful, but I'll show it to you next week!

Since I haven't shared anything with you in about a week, I thought I would show you a sneak peak at one of the 5 cards that we will be stamping at my Stamp-A-Stack on Friday.

Isn't it pretty? And it is sooooo simple!

I have all 5 cards created for my SAS. They are all simple, and I think you will enjoy them. I'll be back later this weekend to share the others with you.

Oh, one more thing...here is my little guy after enjoying some cotton candy (from Grandma!!) at a Fall Festival that we attended this past weekend!

Have a wonderful day! See you soon!

Make & Takes from 9/6

Hi!! Here are a few more things from our Demonstrator Gathering. These are 3 of our make & takes.

The first one is a card using the Pick A Petal stamp set. Although we didn't use it to make flowers, but isn't it adorable using the stamps to make candles??? Wouldn't this make a beautiful Christmas card by changing the Designer Paper? This card is much prettier in real life. The flames sparkle with Dazzling Diamonds!
The next make & take is a cute little booklet made with one of Stampin' Up's open-ended envelope. The envelope was folded in half, then decorated so you can add your own pictures and journaling. Great gift for that special someone!

This next make & take was more of a business make & take for our demonstrators. It's a sampler of all the new In-Colors. These colors are so fresh & crisp!I'm getting ready for my Day-Time Stampin' on Tuesday. I will have 3 new cards to share with you this week. Plus I have a new project from Stamp Club this past Friday to share with you also.

Hope you had a great Monday!

A few more swaps!

Hi! Here are the last of my swap cards that I received last weekend. Well, except for one. I need to photograph one more card, but I'm trying to figure out how to photograph it. You'll understand when you see it. I still need to show you the make & take projects too. I'll try to get everything from our Demonstrator Gathering posted by the end of the weekend. I have some new stuff to share with you next week!

from Kay S. (below)

from Linda G. (below)

from Charity A. (below)

This last one is a treat bag. The topper is the Top Note Die folded in half. Aren't those eyes adorable? They were made from punches! This would make a great little treat bag filled with candy for your children to bring to school at Halloween.

We had our Friday night stamp club tonight. It was a small group, and we had a great time talking and stamping! Thanks ladies!

Good night!

Goodbye Sweet Zeta!

Tonight, as I get ready for my Friday night stamp club, I began to cry my eyes out. Today was a very sad day in our family. We lost our sweet Zeta, and she is now resting peacefully. I found Zeta down in Rolla, where I was going to school, in February 1990. We think she was probably a little less than a year old. I surprised my parents and brought her home with me one weekend. Boy, were they surprised, but they instantly fell in love with her! She was a great cat and a big part of our family. After I moved out on my own, she stayed with my parents. If you know me, I am very much a cat person. Through my entire life, I have never been without my feline friends. My household now has 4 cats! Anyway, I know Zeta is resting peacefully now. Goodbye, my friend!

Some Swaps to Share...

Here are a few of the swaps that I received from our Demonstrator Gathering this past weekend.

From Cherie K. (below) From Linda N. (below)
From Sally N. (below)
From Cathy R. (below)

I'll have several more to share on Wednesday.

I was up late last night (not unusual for me) stamping and assembling some new stamps. I just have to say "THANK YOU!" to Stampin' Up! for making all the new stamp sets die-cut! It was wonderful to just pop them out of the rubber sheet and put them on the wood block!! Oh, did it save my hands from cutting! All of the new stamp sets in this current Idea Book & Catalog are die-cut. ALL stamps (old and new) in the next catalog in January 2009 will be die-cut! Woo Hoo!!!

Have a great evening!

Swap using Say It With Scallops

Hi! I wanted to drop in to share a card that I created to swap at our Demonstrator Gathering over the weekend. Don't you just love this paper? The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is Parisian Summer. The colors in this collection of DSP are So Saffron, Bravo Burgundy, Sahara Sand, and Pink Pirouette. I just love how Sahara Sand, Bravo Burgundy and Pink Pirouette go together. It's a beautiful color combo!

The stamp set I used is called Say It With Scallops. It's the new Ronald McDonald stamp set for this new SU! year. For every set ordered, SU! will donate $2 to Ronald McDonald House Charities. At convention, Stampin' Up! gave a check to Ronald himself for $126,788. That's impressive!

Check it out for yourself on page 125 and on the inside back cover. And we have an awesome scalloped square punch that works wonderfully with this set! Let me know if you would like to help make a difference!

I'll be back tomorrow to share some swaps that I received at our weekend gathering!

Supplies:
Stamps: Say It With Scallops
Ink: Bravo Burgundy
Cardstock: Sahara Sand, Pink Pirouette, Bravo Burgundy, Parisian Summer DSP, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Bravo Burguny Grosgrain Ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch, Corner Rounder

Grandparents Day

Hi! Did you know it was Grandparents Day today??? I didn't want to post this until my parents received their little treats. RJ and I went over to my parents this afternoon to visit and have dinner while Joe was watching football all day. Today was the beginning of football season. Well, actually, there was a game on Thursday night, but the season isn't really official until the Dallas Cowboys play! And yes, Dallas won today! And we are all happy!

Ok, on to the projects. For my mom's treat basket, I cut the basket from my Big Shot in Real Red CS. I "sandwiched" Peppermint Patties between 2 scallop circles. This was a very simple project!

Supplies:
Stamps: Doodle That (retired)
Ink: Real Red
Cardstock: Real Red, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Big Shot, 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" Circle Punches, Scallop Circle Punch, Dimensionals, Sticky Strip, Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain Ribbon

For my Dad's treat, I cut the Top Note from my Big Shot twice...once in Chocolate Chip CS and the other in DSP. And no, you are not seeing a typo. That's how my Dad likes to spell his name! I folded the Top Note in half. I printed "Granpa" on Ivory and punched it out with the Word Window Punch.
Supplies:
Stamps: Wanted
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, DSP (retired), Ivory
Accessories: Big Shot, Star Punch, Word Window Punch, Medium Cello Bag

See you on Monday!

Trick or Treat!

Hi! Hope you are having a great weekend!!! Fall is definitely is the air with this rainy, cool weather!!! Isn't it? I love the Fall!

Stamping has kept me very busy this last week, and I have a lot to share with you. We had our quarterly gathering with some of our demonstrators in our group, Gateway Glitter n Ink, on Saturday morning. We had a great time! There was some business information shared and of course, there was some stampin'. We created 5 make & takes, which I will share this week. I am part of the group who plans these gatherings. One of the things I shared with everybody was the new BigShot. I made several projects using the Big Shot, and I wanted to share a couple with you today.

The first project is a Trick or Treat Candy dish. I used my Top Note die to cut out the banner sign. The words were created using my Cricut. I wrapped each Hershey nugget with some of the Ghostly Greeting Designer Series Paper. This paper is so cute!!!

The second project is another candy dish that Stampin' Up! showed us at convention. The spider and "Spooky" is a Decor Element and will debut in October. Isn't it adorable?

Supplies:
Stamps: Batty for You
Ink: Black
Cardstock: Black, Pumpkin Pie, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White, Ghostly Greetings DSP
Accessories: 1 3/8" & 1 1/4 Circle Punches, Scallop Circle Punch, Pumpkin Pie Striped Ribbon, Paper Piercing Tools, Cricut for "Trick or Treat" and tag on candy jar.

Enjoy your Sunday! Thanks for stopping by!

Eastern Blooms (simple)

Hi! I wanted to share with you a card that we made at my New Catalog Open House and my Day-Time Stampin' in August. This is very simple! The 3 flowers are all one stamp. I used Sponge Daubers to ink up each flower, then stamped on Whisper White Cardstock. Aren't the colors pretty??? So tropical!!! Those are 3 of the new In-Colors!

I have been working this week on a gathering we are planning for our local demonstrators and potential recruits. I'm demonstrating the new Big Shot, so I've been working on samples. Let me tell you, they are so cute!!! I'm really lovin' this Big Shot! If you haven't heard about the Big Shot, you can see it here. It's the newest and greatest thing at Stampin' Up! Stampin' Up! has partnered with Sizzix to bring us The Big Shot! You've got to see it!

I also worked with some Decor Elements (not just for your walls) to make this adorable Halloween Candy Dish. But I want to wait until after Saturday to show these projects to you. There are a few demonstrators who read my blog, so I want to keep it a surprise! I'll have some new stuff to show you soon!

Happy Thursday! Stay dry!
Karen

Updated pictures and dimensions

Hi! Here are the updated pictures of the water bottle and Trident gum holder. I think these are much better from yesterday. As mentioned in my last post, the Crystal Light Holder is 2X7-3/4, scored at 2" & 6" inches. The Trident gum holder is 8-1/2X2-1/2, scored at 2-1/4, 2-3/8, 5-1/2, & 5-5/8 inches. These dimensions are easier for you to understand. Also, the scallop circle is held down with a little Dotto adhesive to keep it closed.

Have a great evening!
Karen

Stamp Club Gifts

Here are a couple of gifts that I made for my stamp club members last session. I invited them over for dinner and a fun evening of stamping. Our stamp club ran from July 2007 through June 2008. This group of ladies is such a fun group! I enjoyed making these gifts for them. I also made them a cute post-it note holder that I will share with you later.

Ok, onto the water bottles and gum holders...the Crystal Light holder is 2 x 7-3/4, scored at 2" & 6". And the Trident Gum Holder is 8-1/2 x 2-1/2, scored at...let me get back to you on these scored dimensions. I used some very weird dimensions using 1/16th of an inch. (That's the engineer coming out of me!) These are both very simple to make. I will take a better picture of the water bottle and the gum holder and get it posted for you this week.

Supplies:
Stamps: Tart & Tangy
Cardstock: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue, Old Olive, Summer Picnic DSP
Ink: Real Red and Old Olive markers, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Brads, Scallop Circle Punch, 1-1/4" & 1-3/8 Circle Punches, Word Window Punch, Dimensionals.
Thanks for your visit!

Inspired by Nature Card

Happy Labor Day! Hope you are enjoying your Holiday! I wanted to share a card with you, that we did at my Stamp Club and my Day-Time Stampin' in August. I pretty well copied it from a card that was shown on on either a blog or on splitcoaststampers. I can't remember! From now on, I will be better at remembering where I was inspired from. :) Also, a similar card can be seen on page 194 of the Fall-Winter 2008 Idea Book & Catalog. I changed it up a bit, and this is what I came up with...
Supplies:
Stamps: Inspired by Nature, Sincere Salutations and Baroque Border Standard Wheel
Cardstock: Confetti Cream, Old Olive, and Bella Rose DSP
Ink: Old Olive Classic pad & ink cartridge
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Ivory Taffeta ribbon, Cutter Kit for distressing cardstock

Thanks for stopping by!
