It's a Little Bright...

but I like it! Hi! I found another layout that I liked, so I sketched it on a post-it and stuck it to my cabinets. I looked at it for a while, then I thought about what stamp set I wanted to use. I immediately thought about this little rocket ship from Pun Fun. It's really glittery in real life. Such a fun card!

Supplies:
Stamps: Pun Fun
Ink: Jet Black Staz-On, Riding Hood Red, Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Riding Hood Red, Watercolor Paper, Washington Apple DSP
Accessories: Large Star Punch, Star Punch, Riding Hood Red Striped Ribbon, 2-way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Dimensionals, Aquapainters.

I have been preparing for a Demonstrator Meeting that is taking place on Saturday. I'm sure I will have several things to share with you!!

Have a fun weekend!

My Blogging Companion!

Here is my blogging companion, Gabby. She loves to be right next to me (or should I say computer) when I am on my computer! She usually goes after the "mouse" on the screen! It is so funny! Don't you love the little heart-shaped nose?!! She is our youngest feline family member, and a big trouble maker with the other cats! She keeps the "older" cats on their toes at all times! She will be 4 in April.

After a while, Gabby will lay her head down on my computer...

And when I need to type something up in that corner, it doesn't even phase her to move!!! I just type away, squeezing my fingers below her head, and she doesn't even budge!!

Wasn't that snow just beautiful this morning? I can say that since I didn't have to drive in it! I'm hoping to take RJ out in it in the next day or two. He will have a blast!
I have a few cards to share with you soon. So make sure to stay in touch!

My inspiration piece is MIA!

WooHoo!! It's the weekend!! Do you have any fun plans???

One of my favorite blogs that I visit is Dawn McVey's blog. A couple of weeks ago, she had a really cute card that has been stuck in my head since it caught my eye! Well, I finally recreated it and I wanted to show my version to you. When I first went to my stampin' area to start stamping, I thought it might be a good idea to look up the card, because...well, why mess with perfection!!! I had some ideas in my head, but sometimes I get so stuck on where I get my inspiration, I don't know where to start. So I opened Dawn's blog and searched her blog to find the inspiring card...but it was gone!!!! She removed it for publication, which means it's probably going to be in a magazine or something!!! Hooray for her...not so good for me. Soooo...I had to recreate something based on my memory. I'm not sure how close I am, but I really like what I came up with. The concept of the square punched pieces is there, but not sure if anything else is simliar to her creation.

Supplies (by Stampin' Up! unless noted):
Stamps: Sincere Salutations
Ink: Riding Hood Red
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Bella Rose DSP
Accessories: 1-3/8" Square Punch, Wide Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch (by Marvy), Clear Buttons, 3/4" Circle Punch, Mini Glue Dots, White Taffeta Ribbon, Dimensionals

The following card was my warm-up card. When I have an idea that I want to put in motion, I usually start with some of my retired supplies until I like what I create. I really like how both of my cards turned out! So fresh and cheerful!

Supplies (by Stampin' Up!):
Stamps: Hugs & Wishes
Ink: Versamark
Paper: So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Cutie Pie DSP (retired)
Accessories: 1-3/8" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, White Embossing Powder, Clear Buttons, Bashful Blue Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

Hope you have a great weekend!! Not too much planned here!! Stay warm and get those stampin' supplies out and start stampin'!

Eastern Blooms and a great day!

I had a wonderful day yesterday! The weather was warm, I didn't have to wear a heavy coat, and I cracked the windows in the car! I also ran a bunch of errands while RJ was at Parent's Day Out. It's so much easier and peaceful without a toddler!! Oh, and breakfast with my friend was such a treat!!! We had a great time and we stayed and talked for over 2 hours!! In the afternoon, RJ and I both took a good nap. In the evening, I played volleyball, then had dinner with my volleyball friends. It was a great day!!

Here is a card that I created based on the same layout from yesterday's post. I did turn it 90 deg. and changed it up a bit.

Supplies:
Stamps: Eastern Blooms, Canvas
Ink: Night of Navy
Paper: Mellow Moss, Night of Navy, Whisper White
Accessories: Mellow Moss Grosgrain Ribbon, Chit Chat Rub-Ons, Dimensionals

Another simple card!

Have a great weekend!

Using a Layout from Kristina's Blog

Hi! I saw a card on one of my favorite blogs, and thought I could create a card using the same layout. It's pretty close, but I turned it 90 deg. At first when I created this card, I didn't have the embossed images at the bottom on the Barely Banana Cardstock. I liked it, but I thought it was missing something. I tried using an embossing folder with my Cuttlebug, but didn't like that either. So I embossed the same image in Clear Embossing Powder. I like how it turned out. Also, I layered my Very Vanilla CS with the stamped image with Dimensionals on another piece of Very Vanilla CS.

Supplies:
Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes
Ink: Perfect Plum, Versamark
Paper: Kraft, Perfect Plum, Barely Banana
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Corner Rounder, Ivory Taffeta Ribbon, Clear Embossing Powder

Love You Much Treat Box

Good Sunday to you!!! Here is the little treat box that we created at our Friday Night Stamp Club. The Top Note Die has so many possibilities!!! I used the White Cardboard that comes with our 12x12 Designer Series Papers, combined with our cardstock to keep the top and bottom a little more sturdy. I used a Stampin' Up! Glue Stick to adhere my Close to Cocoa cardstock to the cardboard BEFORE running it through the Big Shot. Much easier!

For the little box, I used 2 quarter-sheets (4-1/4"x5-1/2") of cardstock...one for top and the other for the bottom. I scored each quarter-sheet at 1". Keep in mind that when you score the 2nd sheet, score it a "little" less OR more than an inch, so that one of the boxes can fit inside the other. Clear as mud??? Let me know if you have any questions on this. I think I made 5 different boxes until I was happy with the dimensions!!

The DSP used on these projects is the Loves Me DSP from last year. I had one pack of the new Candy Lane DSP, but didn't have enough for everybody at Stamp Club. I have been using it like crazy!! So the Loves Me paper turned out great, and I had plenty of it. I punched the hearts with the Heart to Heart Punch and put Regal Rose Cardstock behind it.

Hope you are having a great weekend!

Red Gift Bag with Snowflakes

For Christmas, my sisters, my mom and I usually exchange an extra small gift amongst the 4 of us. We were going to get together for lunch before Christmas while all the kids were still in school, and exchange gifts. But things were busy as usual, and it didn't happen. So I decided to give them their gifts yesterday at my sister's birthday celebration. I made my gift bags for them using my Big Shot and Snowflake Die. For the life of me, I can't remember where I got this idea, so I can't give credit to the person who inspired me. I only remember that they used the Big Snowflake on a Kraft bag, instead of red, and their tag was very different. Also, their snowflakes went off the bag, and the edges were cut to the sides of the bag. Here is my version:

I love how the white snowflakes pop off the red bag! I used Whisper White cardstock, then used my Tombow Multipurpose Glue to adhere them to the bag. But then I was thinking (Oh no!!)...I had some white self-adhesive vinyl. So I cut another 3 snowflakes out of the vinyl and put them on one of the bags. It might have been a bit easier then gluing each snowflake, but the flimsy vinyl was a little tricky to keep straight without sticking to the bag. But the vinyl was very forgiving, so that I could pull it up and reposition. So each way was pretty easy. It was probably more time-consuming to adhere the cardstock versus the vinyl.

For the tag, I used So Many Scallops (a Sale-a-bration set from 2008), then punched another Real Red Scallop Circle to offset behind the image. This gift bag is really cute in real life! It was a big hit with my sisters and my mom.

Hope you are having a great weekend! Thanks for visiting!
